About Ethos Landscapes

Ethos Landscapes LLC was founded by Judd Lee, Jr. in 2021 in an effort to connect with clients in Jacksonville, FL and surrounding areas. We provide the professionalism, reliability, and trusted knowledge of a licensed FL landscape architect. Our goal is to provide our clients with access to valuable landscape architecture solutions, which are missing from landscape designs prepared by the average landscaping company.

History | Background

How it all started

In 1995, Judd got his first ever job. Through a family friend, he got hired as an associate at Allandale Garden Center in Port Orange, Florida. At the time, nobody knew how important this job would be in laying the foundation for a long tenured career in landscape architecture, as well as a lifelong love for plants and the environment. Those early experiences in growing and selling plants, helping customers with their needs, and even installing landscapes were instrumental in leading Judd to pursue his degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida, College of Design, Construction, and Planning.

Judd went on to earn two degrees from the University of Florida:

• Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture, 2004
• Master of Science, 2008

Early Landscape Architecture career

Upon graduating college in 2004, Judd was fortunate enough to be hired as an entry-level landscape associate with Prosser Hallock, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida. This position brought Judd to Jacksonville where he has resided and worked ever since. From 2004 to 2010, Judd had the opportunity to work for a few other private practice firms of varying sizes and specialties which allowed him to learn the diverse scope of the profession.

Prior Private Practice Firms include:

• Prosser Hallock, Inc.
• Halback Design Group, Inc.
• Reynolds, Smith, and Hills, Inc. (RS&H)

Serving in roles ranging from land planner to project manager to FL Landscape Architect, Judd learned and practiced land planning, landscape architecture drawing and specifications, site planning, color graphics, construction detailing, construction administration and much more on commercial, residential, institutional, government, and municipal projects.

With this experience, Judd became a Florida Registered Landscape Architect in 2007.

Since 2010, Judd has served as the Senior Landscape Architect for an Engineering Command within the Department of Defense. During his tenure, he has been heavily involved with the design and construction of hundreds of Federal/Military projects throughout the Southeast United States. This experience has brought new skills which include a focus on low maintenance, drought tolerant designs which are sustainable and cost effective, yet still provide beauty and enhance the quality of life of users.

Design Process

Our design process allows for clients to have one-on-one communications with our owner at any time. This creates great value for our customers because they can trust that all solutions are coming from an expert, a FL Landscape Architect.

We enjoy collaboration and learning about the wishes and desires of our clients. Upon understanding those desires, we then create solutions which meet those desires, but also are safe, sustainable, and well thought out.

We aim to provide a level of service that feels as though you are a VIP and have a trusted partner at every step of your project, from planning through completion. Our doors will always be open to current and former clients for questions or assistance!

Landscape Architect Fees

Since every project is different, we meet with clients to understand budget and what services are needed. Due to our small firm size, we offer competitive hourly rates for landscape architecture services. We will happily discuss rates and terms so both parties feel satisfied with the agreement. We aim for Win-Win relationships.
